Vapes are a commonly new phenomenon that seems to be ever increasing in popularity. Its popularity has been noticed throughout the world, in fact, with new rules and laws being put into place in order to regulate the use of them.
One such regulation is that only people over 18 are allowed to purchase them. The thing, though, is that there hasn’t been enough research done that shows exactly what vapes and e-cigarettes will do to the body.
One thing is for certain, however; vapes and other similar products have become the top, most used tobacco product. This has led to many researchers worrying about the side effects and consequences of using a vape or other such product.
Fortunately, there are a few things that we can discern about vapes and other products like them, but because of the lack of information, there are a few facts that can be muddled with either the misinformation or a lack thereof. Discerning between fact and belief is a lot easier now, though.
Vaping Is Less Harmful Than Cigarettes
One thing that needs to be understood is that although vapes, also known as e-cigarettes, have been around for some time, they haven’t been around long enough to do comprehensive research to determine whether they’re harmful to our health. What we can do, however, is determine some of the more obvious aspects between cigarettes and vapes.
With that in mind, it’s safe to say that, compared to regular cigarette smoke, it’s safer to use an e-cigarette, or at the very least, it’s less harmful. Cigarettes have over 7,000 chemicals in them, many of which are extremely toxic to us. While it isn’t fully known what chemicals are in vapes, there is little doubt that they introduce you to fewer toxins.
With that being said, many vapes and similar products contain nicotine, which can be harmful to both pregnant woman and children. As well, because there aren’t enough studies done on vapes and their effects, we really don’t know any of the long-term effects of them.
Vaping isn’t the Best Way to Quit Smoking
It seems only natural that, in order to quit smoking, you should replace it with something that fills that hole. Unfortunately, using a vape doesn’t seem to be the best way to quit smoking. For starters, they haven’t been given approval by the FDA as smoking cessation tools.
There was a study done recently that showed that people who attempted to use vapes to quit their nicotine/smoking habit weren’t actually doing that good of a job. It turns out that vapes and e-cigarettes are about as addictive as regular cigarettes in terms of nicotine. This is due to the fact that vapes typically have quite a bit of nicotine in them.
If you’re looking for ways to quit smoking, there are better and more effective solutions available. One such way is using nicotine replacement therapy in the form of a nicotine patch or gum. Most agree that this is the best way to quit using cigarettes.
The Youth are Getting Hooked on Them
One unintended side effect of the whole vaping thing is that teenagers, mainly in middle and high school, are becoming hooked on the stuff. There are a number of reasons as to why this is happening, but the main one seems to be involved with the nicotine in the products.
Vapes and the like are very appealing to teenagers for a variety of reasons. One such reason is that many see that vaping is safer than cigarettes, and because of this, they’re rushing toward vapes, especially because they’re cheaper to use per-cost compared to cigarettes.
Probably the most appealing fact about them is that they can come in a variety of flavors, like apple pie and other fruity flavors. The taste of these flavors is a lot more appealing than the smoke and tar that usually accompanies cigarettes. Likewise, the lack of smoke means that vapes are a lot more accessible than regular cigarettes.
One study based on the youth use of vapes suggests that they may be damaging their lungs. Because of the way that the smoke from vapes and e-cigarettes is released (through an aerosol release), inflammation is bound to happen. How it affects younger users in the long run remains to be seen, but the fact remains that vapes may deal long-term damage on younger users.
So, even though there aren’t necessarily any known health benefits to using a vape over a cigarette, vapes are a lot more fun than normal cigarettes. With the various fun flavors and the fact that you can make yourself seem like a dragon breathing cotton candy flavored smoke is something that can appeal to everyone. And no matter who you are, one thing is undeniably clear: vape tricks are fun to look at and even more fun to do.
There are plenty of places you can look up if you want to learn more about vape tricks and the various competitions surrounding them, from simple circles to making what seems like a jellyfish fly through the air. The truth of the matter is that they haven’t been around long enough to study the long-term effects they have on health. Whether or not they help people quit smoking or are safer than cigarettes is something that is still being debated on to this day. No matter what though, it can be said that they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.
